Cry a name for the unknown soldier,

in every street and every town.

And every day we get a little older,

while silhouettes of hero’s fade away.

 

Not so famous, just a face in the shadows.

They still remember when they stood tall.

Would they have given all for queen or country.

If they knew we would not remember all.

 

On Remembrance Day.

 

Cry a name for the unknown soldier,

as they pass in a home parade.

Or as they drive you in your homebound taxi,

In every town and city in the land.

 

On Remembrance Day     we cant forget, we wont forget.

 

Did you see that there’s been an explosion.

Did you hear the gunshots ring.

Have you felt the pain of violence,

Today lets give some time for those who have.

left behind, another hero gone.

Do we honour them with tears for the fallen,

Or pride in all they gave and what they’ve done.
